Nowa 3.14: From idea to launch

Nowa 3.14 helps you take your app from idea to launch. 🚀 We tested Nowa intensively and polished it from end to end, focusing on what matters most for a real product: your data, your payments, and getting into the App Store and Google Play. Our docs are also brand new, with a guide for every step, and Nowa now runs on Linux too. 🐧

New in This Version ✨​

  • 📚 Brand-New Docs We rewrote our docs from scratch. They now cover everything you need to build a great app with Nowa, from A to Z. Start with the new Build a great app section for tips and tricks, then explore Nowa AI, Firebase (including push notifications), payments, maps, ads, and step-by-step publishing to Google Play and the App Store. Check them out!

  • 🐧 Nowa Is on Linux The Nowa desktop app now runs on Linux, alongside Mac and Windows, so you can build on whichever computer you prefer. Download the 64-bit version, and the install script adds Nowa to your app menu for you. Get it here.

  • 🔥 Build Your Database Visually The new Firestore panel in the left sidebar shows all your collections and queries. Add a collection or a query in one click, and build queries that add and read documents without writing any code. See Firestore.

  • 🏪 Ready for the App Store and Google Play

    • Account deletion: Apple and Google require apps with sign-up to let people delete their account. Firebase Authentication now adds this for you.
    • Restore purchases: new RevenueCat projects include it, so subscribers keep what they paid for on a new phone.
    • iOS builds always use your app's latest bundle ID.

  • 💳 Ready to Get Paid Switch Google Pay from Test to Production with the new Environment setting in Stripe, and start taking real payments. Your own changes to the payment code stay in place when Nowa updates it.

  • 🔐 A Secure Backend by Default Nowa deploys your Supabase edge functions with Supabase's security check turned on. Only Stripe's webhook stays public, and the setup summary shows which functions are public.

  • 🎨 Easier Visual Building

    • Widgets fit their content on the board, the same as in your app.
    • App bars, floating buttons, bottom navigation bars and drawers go straight to the right place when you drop them on a screen.
    • Templates add the packages they need.
    • Renaming an image updates every widget that uses it.
    • New sliders use your theme's colors, and the Empty Page template lets you pick a device size.

  • 🤖 Smarter AI Help

    • Restore Checkpoint shows how many AI requests it will undo.
    • Fix with AI knows which step of your Supabase setup needs attention.
    • Explain with AI gives clearer answers about your build logs.
    • Attach text files to the AI chat on the web too.

  • 🔗 Deep Links Open the Right Screen A link from an email, an ad or a message now opens the right screen in your app.

  • ✨ Smaller Touches

    • Lighter on your computer: Nowa now uses much less memory.
    • A fresh look: menus share one clean design with built-in search.
    • Sample data while you design: the board shows sample responses for your API requests, so your live data isn't touched.
    • View Only members can copy widgets and export them as images.
    • Clearer messages that stay on screen longer.

  • 💻 For Those Who Code Nowa keeps your code, comments and formatting the way you wrote them. Local projects also support SSH keys and easier Git conflict resolution.
